Aaron Neville brings some serious soul to the Buskirk Chumley

Have you ever been in the nose bleed seats to see a concert? I have many times, like U2 in LA in the 80’s…I had to use binoculars to see the band, what’s the point? I felt ripped off. Luckily we’re not in the big city because here in Bloomington, we have a gem…the Buskirk Chumley. At the end of last year I was invited by my neighbors to go see Aaron Neville there and was very happy to go along for the ride having no clue about Aaron Neville or the Buskirk Chumley.

What a treasure and a find on both counts! First of all, not a bad seat in the house. Second of all, they serve beer and wineJ. And third, the acts & performances they get are amazing if not world class. Aaron Neville, his brother and the band & even the opening act was altogether one of the best performances that I’ve ever seen & I’ve seen many, especially in my teens & tweens .

Obviously Aaron Neville and his band have quite a following and based upon what I witnessed, I would say he has acquired quite a few female fans as well…thought one girl was going to go ditch her boyfriend to go jump the stage, seriously. So, if you get a chance to see Aaron Neville or anything appealing to you at the Buskirk Chumley, check it out and if you get lucky enough to get them both in one like I did, then you’ve really hit the jackpot!
